Don't Worry - Be Happy
It's hard to imagine what my life would be like if I wasn't a writer. From as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to be a writer.
I self-published my first book and learned 'the ropes' well enough that I now teach others how to do it - primarily children. Why? Probably because their minds are so fresh and full of ideas. They don't worry about staying in character... their good guys can 'go bad' and vice versa.
Now with two more books coming out this year it seems that I never have enough time... for anything to be completed 'on time.'
Solution: I've become much more flexible with my time and less rigid with virtually everything. We're all happier. For example, I started writing this over a week ago... then life happened! Son #1 had a huge project for school, son #2 got sick, step-son and wife had a beautiful new baby girl (:), etc., etc... did the world stop? Will it matter in two months or 2 years if everything got 'done - or not?'
Try and make time to relax - today. Both of my boys got sick in the middle of the night last night... something they ate? Who knows. I had a gazillion things I needed to do today. Will any of it happen? Maybe. Our plans? To play monopoly, make puzzles and maybe paint. Oh, and son #1 might want to finish his book titled The Big Red Bird. I'll never get another chance to have today with my boys again. I'm going to live for today.
Right now it's time to get them out of the bathtub and see what they want to do first. Don't worry - be happy.
